Olive Shade

Few places sum up rural Apulia quite like this trullo – a cluster of ancient stone cones set among nearly two hectares of centuries-old olive groves, where the landscape feels as much a part of the stay as the home itself. The pool sits right among the olive trees, making afternoon swims feel a little dreamlike, and long alfresco lunches on the terrace are an easy default. Inside, the minimalist interiors let the architecture speak – all curved stone walls and cone-shaped ceilings. Ceglie Messapica's historic centre is a five-minute drive, with Ostuni roughly thirty minutes beyond that.

Home truths:
* Trullo San Michele sits in the countryside outside Ceglie Messapica – you'll need a car to get around, whether that's reaching the village, driving to Ostuni, or exploring the wider region.
* You'll have three parking spaces on the driveway, behind the electric gate.
* If you're travelling with a baby or young children, your host can provide a cot, high chair, and safety gates – worth requesting in advance so everything is ready on arrival.
* For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.
