Vineyards of Etna

With sweeping views of Mount Etna from a private natural pool, this restored Sicilian farmhouse apartment makes a strong first impression. Inside, original stone walls nod to its rustic roots. Meanwhile, the rest has been thoughtfully updated for modern living, with a sofa bed in the living room that would suit a small family sharing. Step outside and walking trails lead you to nearby vineyards, woodlands and the Alcantara Waterfall. For everything else, including dinners out and day trips to nearby Taormina or Catania, you’ll need a car. But for such a peaceful setting and those mountain vistas, we think it’s a worthy trade-off.

Home truths:
*At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. Due to the size of the home, we think this would be better suited to a family sharing rather than four adults.
*If you’re travelling with little ones, a cot and a high chair are provided.
*You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob and microwave. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.
*There is free private parking in the farmhouse grounds.
*This is a working farming area, so farming activity is to be expected – but you’ll be rewarded with fresh local produce delivered to your door.
*The swimming pool isn't fenced.
