Morning sea swims are a doddle, and you can easily nip back to the shady private balcony for a spot of lunch to beat the midday heat. When you’re ready for a taste of Sicilian living, the bakery and supermarket in the nearby village of Scopello are handy (4 km away). For anything else, including meals out in the nearby medieval harbour town of Castellammare del Golfo, you’ll need a car as this home is fairly remote. But for us, that’s all part of the charm.
