Description Treetop Hideout: Bouc-Bel-Air

Tucked into a wooded hillside in Bouc-Bel-Air, this contemporary villa trades city noise for pines and warm Provençal light. The architecture – concrete, stone, and large bay windows – frames the surrounding greenery rather than competing with it, and the infinity-style pool feels like it disappears into the treeline. Long alfresco meals under the shade of the terrace, a barbecue fired up at dusk, drinks as the heat softens – the rhythm here is unhurried. When you're ready to venture out, central Aix-en-Provence is a fifteen-minute drive, and Montagne Sainte-Victoire is within reach for a hike.

Home truths:
* The villa is accessed via a long, steep driveway – you'll need a car to reach it comfortably, and it's worth knowing before arrival if anyone in your group has limited mobility.
* You're in a peaceful hillside setting rather than a walkable village – a car is essential for reaching local restaurants, the weekly market, and the shops and bars of Aix-en-Provence, a twenty-minute drive away.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot upon request.
