Draped in vines and rooted in the heart of Blockley, this honey-stone cottage is the kind of place that makes you want to slow right down. Original beams, leaded windows, and a wood-burning stove in the dining room set the tone inside, while outside you can take breakfast alfresco on the front terrace or wander round to the walled courtyard with its views over the communal garden. Two village pubs and a cafe are an easy stroll away, with Chipping Campden, Broadway, and Bourton-on-the-Hill within easy reach for independent shops and restaurants.

Home truths:
* This home spans four floors and involves a lot of stair use – the kitchen is on the ground floor, reception rooms on the first floor, the main bedroom on the second floor, and a tumble dryer on a landing in between. It may not suit guests with limited mobility.
* The fireplace in the sitting room is closed and cannot be used – the wood-burning stove in the dining room is the working fire in the home.
* Alongside the private garden and terrace, you'll have access to the communal gardens here. The stream running through the communal gardens is unfenced, so keep that in mind if you're bringing dogs.
* Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. Off-street parking is provided for two cars.
* A starter pack of wood is provided for the wood-burning stove from October to April.
* The charcoal barbecue is available from Easter to September.
