Soaking in the hot tub as Lone Peak rises directly ahead is the kind of moment this mountain retreat was built around. Ski out from the door to the White Otter and Cascade Lifts, and come home to a wood-burning fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows framing those same snow-capped peaks from every angle. The upper-level main suite has its own private balcony and soaking tub, while a self-contained lower level with a kitchenette and private entrance gives groups the breathing room they need. Big Sky at its best.

Home truths:
* Local improvement works in the Cascade community may bring some construction activity or traffic delays during your stay. It's not predictable in advance, but worth factoring in if you're sensitive to noise.
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed.
* There's no air conditioning here, so if you're visiting during the warmer months, plan accordingly.
* The lower level has its own private entrance, kitchenette, and living area, which works well if part of your group wants independence.
* A starter set of consumables – soap, paper products, dish and laundry detergent, towels, and similar essentials – is provided on arrival. Once that's used up, restocking is on you, so it's worth picking up supplies on your way in.
* Parking here includes a one-car heated garage and additional driveway spaces. Given the mountain location and winter conditions, 4WD or AWD vehicles with snow tyres are strongly recommended.
