You're never far from Barcelona's bustle with a stay at this smart duplex apartment. Perched just around the corner from Plaça Catalunya, in the L'Eixample district, this is as central as it gets. Set in a historic building, we love how light-filled the apartment feels, with a galleried living space, and the small balcony is a bonus. This place does have some quirks, though. One of the double bedrooms is accessed through another bedroom – great for family sharing, but it might not suit everyone. The views from two of the bedrooms aren't overly inspiring either. But for a home this central, we can let that slide.
