Down on the lower terrace, a heated infinity-style pool sits among tropical gardens, with a gazebo-shaded outdoor kitchen nearby for long, unhurried lunches. The eight-person jacuzzi on the lawn, facing the ocean between palm trees, is hard to leave at dusk. Each bedroom has its own sitting area and outlook, and on-request services – private chef, butler, in-villa treatments – mean the pace here is entirely yours to set.

* The villa is spread across two levels, with the living and dining areas on the upper floor and the pool terrace on the lower level – you'll be using the stairs regularly as part of daily life here.
