A colonial plantation villa hidden in tropical greenery on the heights of Lurin, this St-Barths retreat is built around the kind of privacy that's hard to come by on the island. The fenced estate spans a main house and three independent cottages, with a pool terrace at the far end of the garden offering panoramic views over the bay – the sort of spot you'll find yourself returning to from sundown onwards. A private chef, butler, and daily housekeeping are all available on request, while Shell Beach and Gustavia's waterfront are just a few minutes away.

Home truths:
* The estate is made up of separate pavilions spread across the garden, so guests staying in the cottages will step outside to reach the main house, pool, and dining areas. It's part of the charm, but worth bearing in mind if your group wants to move freely between spaces at any hour.
* Your host can provide a cot and high chair for little ones upon request – just bring your own cot linen.
* Housekeeping is provided daily except on Sundays and public holidays. Towels are swapped every two days and bed linen every three days.
* Also included with your stay is a personalised welcome at St-Jean Airport or Gustavia Port.
* Well-behaved pets are welcome to accompany you during your stay.
* There's a heated outdoor swimming pool here. Pool heating is available between 15th November and 30th April.
