Appledore, is where boats bob in the town’s quay, and where there are range of tempting eateries to choose from.
In the summer months, a ferry runs across the estuary to the village of Instow, home to a yacht club and a pleasant partially sandy beach, alternatively it is just a short drive away. A larger beach, the two-mile wide stretch of sand at Westward Ho! is just three miles away, whilst the harbour town of Bideford, with its charming cobbled streets, well regarded restaurants, and treasure trove of shops lies just four miles to the south.
