Olla at Dusk

Playa de la Olla beach is 50 metres from the front door – close enough that you'll hear the waves before you see them. This apartment in Altea makes the most of its coastal position, with the Mediterranean filling the view from the living area and a covered balcony and roof terrace for alfresco evenings over the bay. When the heat builds, the communal pool offers a cool retreat with open water beyond. Altea's old town is within 5 km, and with a bus stop within 500 metres and a train station within 1 km, the rest of the Costa Blanca coast is easy to reach.

* The nearest airport is Alicante, roughly 100 km away, so factor in around an hour's drive at either end of your trip.
* The living room has a sofa bed, so the apartment can stretch to accommodate a third guest alongside the main bedroom. Bear in mind the living area doubles as sleeping space in that configuration.
* The only bathroom here is an en-suite off the main bedroom – at full occupancy, privacy may be limited.
