Description Aix Afterglow: Aix-en-Provence

Less than ten minutes from the elegant boulevards and cafes of Aix-en-Provence, this architect-designed house feels like a world apart. The garden is the real heart of summer stays – swim in the pool, savour alfresco lunches from the outdoor kitchen (complete with barbecue, plancha, and pizza oven), or simply find a quiet corner among the greenery. The main suite upstairs has its own dressing room and a private terrace, while a ground-floor bedroom with en-suite makes life easy for guests who'd rather stay on one level. Montagne Sainte-Victoire is about thirty-five minutes by car.

Home truths:
* You're less than ten minutes from Aix-en-Provence city centre, but the villa sits in a quiet residential area – having a car will make it much easier to come and go at your own pace, especially for grocery runs and day trips.
* For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot upon request.
