Description Intracoastal Drift: Boca Raton

From the screened balcony, you can watch boats glide along the Intracoastal Waterway while staying sheltered from the breeze – a surprisingly peaceful perch given all the activity on the water. The building adds real depth to a stay: a palm-fringed pool, hot tub, barbecue lounge, and an entertainment centre with a Steinway grand piano. South Inlet Park and its snorkelling beach are a five-to-ten-minute walk away, the Boca Raton Resort is a five-minute walk, and the Atlantic beaches are close enough to make a spontaneous afternoon completely straightforward.

Home truths:
* The beach and South Inlet Park are within easy walking distance, so you won't need a car for those. For wider exploring around Boca Raton, having a vehicle will open up more options.
* Lake Boca is a lively boating spot, and you'll see and hear the activity from the balcony – inside, though, it's peaceful.
