Sitting directly on Anse des Cayes, this villa puts the Caribbean Sea at arm's length from nearly every living space. The terrace, the pool, and the main bedroom all face the water, so the ocean is a near-constant presence rather than a distant backdrop. Trade winds drift through the living and dining area, kept naturally cool beneath a mansard ceiling, while a gas barbecue and alfresco dining table make evenings outside an easy choice. When you want more, Gustavia's yacht-lined harbour and its boutiques are within reach for a change of scenery.

Home truths:
* The third bedroom is on the lower level and comes with twin beds – but these can be converted into a king-size bed if you'd prefer. Let your host know in advance so the room is set up the way you want it.
* Housekeeping is provided daily except on Sundays and public holidays. Towels are swapped every two days and bed linen every three days.
* Also included with your stay is a personalised welcome at St-Jean Airport or Gustavia Port.
* There's a heated outdoor swimming pool here. Pool heating is available between 15th November and 30th April.
* The main suite has a sea view, while the other upper floor overlooks the patio.
