Set within twenty acres of estate grounds, this cottage embraces the Devon countryside idyll. Wandering the grounds you’ll find a stocked Course lake and the tumbling Little Dart River if fly fishing is more your thing. Shared gardens have lawns for kids to run around on and a barbecue area for sunny summer dinners. The cottage itself has its own patio, looking out towards the forest. Part of an old farm steading, it still retains some traditional features like a slate floor and cast-iron wood-burner in the heart of the living room. Spend the evening cuddled up by the fire inside, or perhaps head to the pretty Saxon village of Chulmleigh (just over a mile away) and find a cosy country pub.

About Devon

With its vibrant cities, wild moors and picture-perfect beaches – we can see why so many poets and writers, such as Ted Hughes, Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle, have been inspired by its stunning landscapes. Chic waterside towns such as Salcombe and Dartmouth appeal to yachties, while Totnes attracts a more alternative crowd. Or head to Exeter with its cathedral and riverside bars and restaurants on the picturesque quay....

This home is managed by Susan

This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Susan moved to Devon in 2003 after she fell in love with the glorious scenery. She took on the challenge of converting her old 16th-century barn into four lovely characterful holiday cottages. Now, she absolutely loves sharing the extraordinary results of her effort with guests from all over the world.
