Shogun: Rome
addremove
It’s easy to imagine that Shogun is a time capsule, sealed at the turn of the twentieth century and only just reopened. It’s the antithesis of neutral palettes and lowest-common-denominator design. There rich colours, luxurious upholstery, antique furniture – it all feels very grand. It’s not sterile, like so many other places, but this does mean you’ll have to be a bit tolerant of wear and tear. That’s a compromise, however, that we’d make ten times out of ten.
Home truths:
*There are a few rooms that are off-limits, but these will always be kept behind locked doors
*People live in this flat most of the time, so don't expect it to be brand new – there are some scratches on the furniture and some of the walls could do with repainting
*The second bathroom is a bit rundown, and the third is very small
*There's a small flight of stairs before you get to the lift
