Italy’s never been too big on skyscrapers (leaning towers are the main thing), but the view from Amaryllis is the closest to the Manhattan skyline that it can offer. The sleek towers of the Bosco Verticale and Piazza Gae Aulenti rise up from the horizon, so shiny that you can almost see your reflection in the glass façades. This panorama is the draw of Amaryllis, which is otherwise a perfectly comfortable, if not especially idiosyncratic, flat. But it stands as good evidence of just how valuable a view can be.
