Sitting just outside Lucca's medieval walls – easily accessible in six minutes on the bikes provided or fifteen minutes away on foot – this home is filled with luxe design features and a decor that blends old and new to create the ideal setting for rest and relaxation.

Gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers and antique accents make a sophisticated impression in the white-washed rooms, with stand-out art pieces such as life-size terracotta vases adding plenty of decorative character here. The bedrooms, meanwhile, follow a grey and white colour scheme that makes the most of the Tuscan sun, with dark oak furniture adding a sense of timeless elegance. We’re particularly fond of the main bedroom’s decadent canopy bed and the second bedroom’s private balcony – the ideal spot for a morning espresso.

Outside in the private garden, sun loungers invite luxurious lounging while catching some rays over a good book, while the billowing marquee covers an inviting outdoor sofa set that beckons celebratory sundowners. If you're not heading into town for a traditional Italian meal, fire up the large stone barbecue for an alfresco feast beneath the stars.
