Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

This home is located in a popular part of Lower Alfama, mostly famous for its fado houses and picturesque narrow streets that bring Lisbon's history to life. Part of a 200-year-old building, this petite open-plan studio has been designed with the mission to maximise the space available (and make it pretty). There's no couch – instead you'll find a cosy window sill where you can curl up with a book, and a miniature dining spot ideal for morning coffee. However, we think that, with so much to see right on your doorstep, you'll spend most of your time out and about exploring the city. Old Alfama is truly a maze, but getting lost amongst the sights and smells of this neighbourhood is part of the fun. Plus, you can walk to Lisbon Cathedral, Castelo de São Jorge and the riverfront in under ten minutes.

About Alfama

As Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhood, it’s not surprising that Alfama is also the corner of the city with the most character. Here, you’ll get an authentic taste of the real Portugal, away from the tourist-trodden trails of the centre. Unlike most of Lisbon, this area survived the famous 1755 earthquake, preserving an image of the old capital. Steep, cobbled streets are flanked with down-to-earth cafés, crumbling churches and intimate fado venues...

Host

This home is managed by Adelaide

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Adelaide and her team look after a fair number of flats around the city. As there are several of them, it’s possible you’ll come across one of her colleagues, rather than Adelaide herself, but whoever it is, you’re in good hands.

Registration or licence number: 82832/AL.
