Positioned in the bohemian neighbourhood of Chiado, this beautifully equipped home is right at the heart of the action. You couldn't ask for a better location, surrounded by tram links and within easy walking distance of Lisbon's cultural gems. Here, you're less than a five-minute stroll from the Carmo Convent, the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcántara viewpoint, with its sweeping vistas across the Tagus River, and A Brasileira, Chiado's most famous café. The interior is contemporary and inviting, echoing the elegance of its surroundings. White walls, wooden floors and heaps of natural light complement the open-plan layout, creating a free-flowing ambience primed for relaxation. There are all the bells and whistles here for a want-for-nothing stay, including a cosy lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. We especially love the private balcony. After a restful slumber, spend mornings roosted here, sipping coffee in the sunshine before slipping out to explore.

Saldanha is the uptown business district of Lisbon, filled with designer shops and upscale restaurants that contrast the modern buildings where many locals spend their working days. But it's not like Saldanha closes down after five – there's plenty of residents who appreciate the neighbourhood's sleek look.
