While Denmark’s Sealand island might play host to its grand capital city, just a fifty-five-minute drive up north will take you to an entirely different environment. The seaside town of Gilleleje offers a quaint mix of fishmongers, a picturesque harbour, a traditional kirk, and local museums – all within a five-minute drive of this gorgeous wooden home. Built in 1947, and renovated in 2012, you can certainly still admire its quintessentially Danish exterior. Wooden planks, white detailing, and a postcard-perfect white chimney create a classic scene in this forest setting. While you’ve got over five-thousand square feet of grounds to explore, you might be spending a lot of time on the decking by the house – you’ve got both open and covered terraces to choose from. Fire up the barbecue and head inside to check out the interiors while it reaches the temperature for cooking fresh, local fish. We love the modern decor mixed with rustic features. Wicker chairs and vintage cabinets bring character to the kitchen, with white timber beams propping up the ceiling in this lofty space. Glossy, wooden floors painted white make the entire house feel larger than life, with cosy armchairs and cushions making sure you experience a truly hygge lifestyle.
