Grand and palatial, this beautiful Tuscan villa on the outskirts of Lucca may have been extensively renovated in 2006, but its foundations are far older than that. Originally built in the 1500s, the home was enlarged in the 1900s where it came to exist as a family home. This, of course, sets it up perfectly to accommodate large groups, making it the ideal destination for a family reunion or group getaway when you’re looking to explore the wonder of Tuscany. With plenty of room on offer, find a space to make your own as you unwind in whatever way you see fit. Perhaps it’s binge watching series on your laptop or catching up on your favourite true crime podcast. Take drinks poolside as you sunbathe under the Tuscan sun or walk the beautiful green garden to find the perfect reading nook. Families can get together on the tennis court or the games room, but the easiest way to unite the group is with food. Enjoy meals alfresco around the outdoor dining table and move from one seating area to the next as you settle down with drinks in the shade of the rattan garden furniture. Make use of the bikes supplied to explore the area, although we recommend walking so you can really admire the views. Find your way to the village for fresh bread, ham, pecorino and wine, and whilst you're out, you may as well find ice cream to enjoy on the walk back.

About Pisa

Perhaps best known for a certain askew tower, there’s plenty more to Pisa than architecture gone awry. Thanks to the prime position on the River Arno close to the Ligurian Sea, there’s a long history of maritime activity in the region and the city became a major economic player between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries.
