Description Labour of Love: Copenhagen

As the well-curated artwork dotted around the home and the quirky design installations will attest, Labour of Love is owned by an artist with a great eye for details. Although the wooden kitchen countertop has some signs of wear, it's impeccably clean and brilliantly maintained. The elegant sash windows let in a fantastic amount of light, and the peaceful leafy views across the street give it a tranquil feel. As it's in vibrant Vesterbro, it's only a twelve-minute walk from the main train station, and a tonne of small cafes, bars and funky vintage shops are closeby.

*Access to this flat is by stairs only – be prepared for some of lugging of suitcases up stairs on arrival
*As the owner has a dog, it's not suitable for guests with pet allergies
* When we visited, the wifi wasn't as fast as we would like it to be
*As there's no glass wall to prevent water from spraying during showers, the bathroom could get a little wet if you're not careful
* The ceiling height above the stove isn't especially high – a tall person would have to crouch to cook in this space
* This is a lived-in home – expect to share the space with plenty of the host's possessions
* It is located on a busy street – you might be able to hear some traffic noise now and then
