This huge Somerset estate has been passed down the same family tree for more than four hundred years. As you can imagine, there are a few heirlooms dotted about, from antique furniture, paintings and an impressive leather-bound book collection. Comprised of two different, but equally comfortable properties, it's the perfect setting for a large reunion. Both inside and out, the home feels at once elegant and relaxed. There's a playground for the little ones, a badminton court, a croquet lawn, and plenty of green spaces for all to enjoy. Those who love cooking will enjoy going to the walled garden that's often full of ready-to-eat veggies. Inside the houses, you'll find interiors inspired by different eras, such as the cosy, wooden-beamed living room, a lavish dining hall and the welcomingly modern conservatory. The surrounding county has a wealth of attractions. We recommend you start by visiting Glastonbury — about twenty-five minutes away by car — and going to see the Tor, if only for the panoramic views when you reach the top. However, if you see a lot of sun in the weather forecast, head to Burnham-on-Sea in under twenty minutes for a glorious beach day with the family.
