Sage looks like it’s stuck in a bohemian moment of the 1960s – and we're here for it. Positively brimming with retro furniture, hip artwork, and a vibrant colour palette, it’s like breathing in a breath of fresh air. We love that all of this is happening inside an old Altbau building, with big windows and high ceilings, allowing plenty of natural light to stream through the large bedrooms and spacious communal areas. It's a real crowd-pleasing home, with three brightly coloured bedrooms, each with their own eclectic prints, funky patterns and green houseplants. Set against the backdrop of Mitte, it’s in an excellent location for exploring too. Alexanderplatz is around the corner (a five-minute walk away) – and if you feel like exploring Museum Island, it’s less than fifteen minutes from home by foot.

Home truths

At capacity, four people will be sleeping on sofa beds in communal areas

The bathroom is a little tired-looking – the grouting in the bathtub could do with some attention, plus it will be shared between nine guests (at full occupancy), so there could be some queuing in the morning

As there’s no lift in this building and it’s on the third floor, you will have to climb roughly sixty steps to get to the front door

The kitchen is pretty old – some of the appliances could do with an update

If you're bringing little ones along, a baby cot is provided by the host

There's no TV in this home
