This duplex apartment embraces the history of Bergamo. Dating back to the 16th century, the thick stone walls keep this place naturally cool in summer. There are a few steps and stairs throughout, owing to the age of the building, and one of the bedrooms is on an open mezzanine level overlooking the dining area. There’s no doubt it’s quirky – just look at the bistro table on the glass floor above the living room. From here, you can peer out at the ancient church-filled streets of Bergamo, easily explored on foot from this historic bolthole.
