The Provençal Atelier

A former artist's studio in the village of Sanilhac-Sagriès, this loft has kept all the character of its past life – exposed rock walls, high concrete ceilings, and generous natural light – while feeling unmistakably designed for comfort. The decked terrace overlooks olive trees, cypresses, and the vineyards of the Uzège, with an outdoor shower under a fig tree for warm afternoons. A projector turns an evening indoors into something cinematic. The historic centre of Uzès is a ten-minute drive, and the Pont du Gard roughly twenty-three minutes beyond that.

Home truths:
* You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.
* As is common in France, the toilet is separate from the bathroom.
* Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you here at no extra cost. Small to medium-sized dogs are the best fit, and your host encourages you to get in touch before booking if you're unsure whether your dog is suitable.
* You're in a quiet village setting around five minutes by car from Uzès – you'll want a car to make the most of the area, including trips to the Pont du Gard and the Gardon river.
