If your ideal summer holiday involves salty swims, seafood lunches, and not wearing shoes very often, this Sicilian villa is a very good shout. San Lorenzo beach is only a short walk away, while the saltwater pool makes staying home equally tempting. Most evenings end up outside – barbecue on, wine open, sunset taking far longer than expected. Inside, things stay cool, simple, and easy to live in, with bright rooms opening straight onto the garden. The location’s spot on too. Marzamemi’s seafood restaurants are a short drive away, while Noto, Syracuse, and the Vendicari Nature Reserve all make easy day trips along Sicily’s south-east coast.
