Jasmine Cottage is a charming end-of-terrace cottage located in the picturesque village of Porlock, Somerset. This period cottage offers accommodation for up to 6 guests and is pet-friendly. The cottage has three bedrooms and is situated on the lower slopes of Porlock Hill, offering guests lovely coastal views.
Inside, the cottage boasts a comfortable sitting room with an open fire, perfect for cosy evenings in. The cottage has been extended to include an open-plan kitchen and dining room, complete with doors that lead to the rear patio garden. The kitchen is well-equipped and includes a large electric oven.
Jasmine Cottage offers two double bedrooms and one bedroom with bunk beds. The property has an enclosed and private garden that offers sea views. For guests' convenience, bed linen and towels are provided, and electricity, heating, and wifi are included in the rental price.
The cottage has off-road parking for one car, and Porlock's pubs, shops, and restaurants are within walking distance. Guests can take a short stroll into the village to explore the local amenities or venture further afield to Porlock Weir harbor and pebble beach, which is approximately a mile away.
Dogs are welcome at Jasmine Cottage for a supplement of £20 per dog, with a maximum of two dogs allowed. Guests can arrive at the cottage from 4 pm and should depart by 10 am.
FacilitiesThe kitchen is newly fitted and well equipped including an electric range cooker with oven and 5 hobs, dishwasher, freestanding fridge-freezer, microwave, and washing machine. Other items include toaster, kettle, a variety of cookware, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
There is a travel cot if required, high chair and stair gates provided in the cottage (please bring your own bedding for the cot). A hair dryer, iron and ironing board are provided for your convenience.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The cottage has oil-fired central heating, and a basket of logs and kindling will be provided for the wood-burner in the cooler months.
Bed linen, duvets, and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips.
There may be non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets/powder, and surface cleaner will be present in the property. Two toilet rolls will be provided per toilet and hand wash.
LocationPorlock is a historic village on the edge of Exmoor National Park in Somerset, in a sheltered vale between the moor and the Bristol Channel coast. Its heritage stretches back to Saxon times.
The meandering High Street is lined with independent shops, including a traditional butcher, chemist, hardware shop, post office, two convenience stores, art galleries, a chocolate shop, and a cash machine. Most shops keep hours of 9am to 5pm, often extending during the summer season.
The harbour hamlet of Porlock Weir is approximately one mile to the west and makes a lovely walk or a short drive. There you will find a 15th-century tidal harbour, a pub, restaurants, cafes, and independent shops and galleries.
Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 6 miles away. Here you will find larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrisons on the outskirts with longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, and a range of other shops. EV charging points are available at Porlock Central Car Park.
