Como Reverie

That terrace above Lake Como is the kind of spot you'll struggle to leave – mountain-framed water stretching out in every direction, ideal for a long alfresco dinner as the light drops. Back inside, the apartment is set up for groups, with three separate bedrooms and a sofa bed for added flexibility. Free on-site parking is a genuine rarity in Menaggio, and the ferry landing is just steps away, putting Bellagio, Varenna, and Villa del Balbianello within easy reach for a day out on the lake.

Home truths:
* Menaggio is one of the more walkable towns on Lake Como – the ferry, piazza, restaurants, and the lakeside are all within a ten-minute walk, so you won't need a car day-to-day.
* If you do want to hire a car, there's free parking for one vehicle on the premises.
* You'll need to climb two flights of stairs – around twenty steps – to reach the front door, so the apartment may not suit guests with limited mobility or those travelling with very heavy luggage.
* The laundry area is not inside the apartment itself – you'll need to step out to a separate space on the premises to use the washing machine and dryer.
* If you're staying with little ones, your host can provide a high chair upon request.
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living space.
* Before arrival, you'll need to complete an online check-in form, share passport photos for all guests, sign the tourist-use lease, and join a quick video call with the host to verify your documents.
