The Easy Tide

A short walk from the sand, this 1940s beach bungalow puts Manhattan Beach's pier, shops, and restaurants all within easy reach on foot. The two king bedrooms are calm and breezy, well suited to a couple of pairs travelling together, while a lower-level bunk bed room works neatly for children. After a day at the beach, the fenced patio comes into its own – an unhurried spot for alfresco dinners off the barbecue as the evening cools. A record player in the living room rounds out the laid-back, vintage feel.

* There is no parking at the home – you'll need to use nearby paid public street parking.
* There is active construction on the neighbouring plot – expect some noise disruption during weekdays.
* There's one flight of steep stairs to reach the front door, so the villa isn't step-free. Bear this in mind if anyone in your group has mobility considerations or if you're arriving with heavy luggage.
* The top bunk is sized for children only – it's not suitable for adults.
* There's a separate rental at the front of the same property – you'll have your own private entrance, but do be aware there may be other guests on site during your stay.
* While there's no air conditioning here, your host can provide fans for the warmer months.
* While the second bathroom isn't photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
