Plane Trees at Lambesc

Five hectares of pine, oak, and olive trees surround this Provençal farmhouse, with cypress-fringed grounds that feel a world away from everyday life. The pool sits at the heart of it all, flanked by sun loungers and shaded dining beneath plane trees – built for long, unhurried days outdoors. Inside, a fireplace anchors the living room, and the kitchen opens straight onto the terrace. A separate gym, jacuzzi, pétanque, and beach volleyball mean there's never a dull moment for mixed groups. Aix-en-Provence is a thirty-two-minute drive, and the village shops of Lambesc are just minutes away.

Home truths:
* While some bedrooms and bathrooms aren't photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair. Worth requesting in advance so everything is ready on arrival.
* The estate sits near a railway line, so you'll hear trains passing occasionally during your stay. The frequency is low and the setting means most guests find it easy to tune out, but it's worth knowing if you're a very light sleeper.
* You'll need a car to make the most of this location. While Lambesc village is just a few minutes away, the golf courses, TGV stations, and Marseille Airport all require a drive – the nearest station is around twenty-five minutes away.
