* Note that key collection happens at a separate location between the airport and the apartment before you arrive. If you're arriving by taxi or rental car this is straightforward, but it adds a detour if you're planning to use public transport.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair at no extra charge. You'll need to request them in advance.
* You'll have one private parking space in the building's garage – one of the few spots in this part of Funchal where free private parking is available.
* Bedrooms facing the road can be noisier when cars and buses pass – worth bearing in mind when deciding who sleeps where.
