This stay on Thirassia is ideal if you want an authentic Greek getaway – the island faces bustling Santorini but has under 200 permanent residents. The views are the big draw here. You can watch the sunset or the moonlit volcanic landscape from your private pool, or gaze out at the surrounding islands from the courtyard. Fun fact: it’s cleverly shaped like the Greek letter ‘Π’, to help shelter from sea winds and the Mediterranean sun. Inside, whitewashed stone walls add character, and the traditional wood-fired stove is perfect for cooking with ingredients sourced from the vegetable garden. Three of the bedrooms also have their own lounges with sofa beds, so it works well for larger groups.

*If you're travelling by plane, Santorini is the nearest airport – it's a forty-minute drive to Ammoudi Bay, and then a ten-minute boat transfer from this home.
